Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of approximately 35 to 40 clients, providing comprehensive bookkeeping and accounting services. This role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work closely with clients, tax professionals, and government agencies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct monthly bookkeeping write-ups for approximately 35 to 40 clients.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and research issues to resolve questionable items.
• Analyze income statement accounts.
• Prepare and record month-end general ledger journal entries.
• Prepare bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements.
• Prepare quarterly and annual payroll returns, including W-2s, W-3, 1099s, and 1096.
• Demonstrate knowledge of W-2 fringe benefits.
• Identify and solve accounting issues.
• Prepare worker's compensation audits.
• Work closely with assigned clients, tax professionals, and government agencies.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• High numerical aptitude.
• Detail-oriented.

Required Work Hours

Monday to Friday, during standard business hours.
